Are you as mad about these CBD brownies as we are? We totally get it, but our recommendation is to consume no more than 2 brownies per 24 hours. More than 2 brownies a day can have a laxative effect. If your daily CBD requirement is greater than 2 CBD brownies (together this is 50 mg), then take a different CBD product to address this, such as a CBD plaster or a few drops of a CBD oil.

CBD, what is that?

CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol. Both the plant used for weed and the hemp plant are included in the cannabis plant family. CBD comes from the specially cultivate hemp plant that contains a high amount of CBD. Other cannabinoids, active substances such as CBG, CBN, CBC, THC, CBDa, can also be present when the hemp plant is harvested. The substances the producer wishes to keep are determined by the production process chosen.

Full spectrum without THC

In addition to CBD, the CBD brownie also contains many other cannabinoids, and we call this ‘full spectrum’. During the production process of a CBD product, a choice can be made to keep CBD as the only cannabinoid, which we refer to as ‘isolate’. We can also choose to keep the other cannabinoids. This is the principle of full spectrum.

Entourage effect

The cannabis plant contains many different substances and each substance has its own distinctive qualities. Each substance can be used independently for different purposes. However, it can also be beneficial to combine the substances and have them work in combination. Whenever these substances work together, a certain synergy is created. The various substances can influence and reinforce each other. When this occurs, it is known as the entourage effect.

Hence the CBD brownie contains several cannabinoids. Nevertheless, the psycho-active cannabinoid THC has been removed completely. This means the brownie is not at all psycho-active and taking it cannot result in the consumer getting high. As the THC has been removed completely, the CBD brownie is legal in the Netherlands.
