Description
Organic chaga powder with dual extraction: hot water and ethanol. Easy to mix into food or drinks. Vegan and free from gluten, dairy and soya. The jar contains 60 grams.
Chaga in your tea, yoghurt or smoothie: this powder makes it easy to create a daily moment. Mushrooms For Life Chaga contains an organic extract of the chaga fungus, a distinctive mushroom from northern forests.
This product uses hot water and ethanol during extraction. A dry powder remains afterwards. This lets you use chaga without steeping pieces of mushroom yourself.

- 60 grams of organic chaga powder.
- Blend of mycelium and young fruiting bodies.
- Dual extraction with hot water and ethanol.
- Vegan, gluten-free, soya-free and dairy-free.
- No added fillers or flavourings.
What makes chaga special?
In nature, chaga mainly grows on birch trees in cold regions. The dark growth on the tree looks different from a mushroom with a cap and stem.
Chaga has a long tradition of use in Northern and Eastern Europe. It is often used as tea. For a supplement, the raw material is processed further so you can take a measured amount of extract.
This formula combines mycelium and young fruiting bodies. Mycelium is the network of fine fungal threads from which the mushroom grows. It gives this formula a different composition from powder made only from the growth on a birch tree.
Chaga and antioxidants
Chaga naturally contains substances that show antioxidant properties in research. Antioxidants can neutralise free radicals. These are particles that can cause damage to cells.
Researchers are looking at the polyphenols and polysaccharides in chaga, among other things. Polyphenols are natural compounds; polysaccharides are long chains of sugar units. These components help explain why chaga attracts so much interest.
This makes the powder an interesting choice if you are exploring the composition of mushrooms. The extraction method used partly determines which substances are taken from the raw material.
What does dual extraction mean?
Water and ethanol can release different substances from chaga. That is why Mushrooms For Life uses both in preparation. This approach is called dual extraction.
During the water stage, water-soluble components are extracted from the chaga. Ethanol helps release other components. The extract is then dried into powder.
You do not need to repeat these steps yourself. The jar contains a ready-to-use extract that you can mix into a drink or meal.
Composition
| Product detail | Contents |
|---|---|
| Mushroom | Organic chaga (Inonotus obliquus) |
| Form used | Mycelium and young fruiting bodies, extracted |
| Amount per portion | 800 mg |
| Jar contents | 60 grams |
| Extraction | Hot water and ethanol |
The formula contains no wheat, gluten, soya or dairy. No animal ingredients are used. This makes the powder suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
How do you use Chaga Powder?
Use half to one teaspoon at a time, one to three times per day. Take it before or after a meal. The product is intended for adults.
You can use the powder like this, for example:
- Stir the measured amount into a little tea or water.
- Add the rest of your drink and stir well.
- Use the same measured amount for a smoothie or yoghurt.
The taste is neutral and combines well with other ingredients. It is a powder, so stirring or mixing is part of using it. Do not substitute a larger spoon for the recommended amount.
Straightforward storage
Keep the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a dry spoon and close the lid tightly after use. Moisture makes powder clump more quickly.
You will find the best-before date on your own pack. There is no need to make space in the refrigerator for storage.
Why choose Mushrooms For Life Chaga?
This formula suits those who like mixing a supplement into food or drinks themselves. Extraction has already been done, and you can alternate between tea, yoghurt and smoothies.
Mushrooms For Life was founded in 2011 by Martin Powell and focuses on organic mushroom supplements. For this chaga, dual extraction and the powder form are the main characteristics. You will find the product in our mushroom range.
Good to know when using it
Chaga can contain high levels of oxalates. These substances can harm the kidneys with high or prolonged intake. Do not use chaga on your own initiative if you have kidney problems or kidney stones.
Chaga can also affect blood-thinning medication. Do not combine them without specific medical advice. Do not use the product if you have a known chaga allergy.
Do not take more than the recommended amount. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep the jar out of reach of young children.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do if I miss a dose?
Continue at your usual time. Do not take an extra portion to make up for the missed dose.
What is the Dutch name for chaga?
Chaga is also called berkenweerschijnzwam. Its scientific name is Inonotus obliquus. You may therefore encounter these names for the same species.
Can I mix chaga into warm tea?
Yes, the powder can be added to warm or cold drinks, such as tea, coffee or cocoa. The extract has already been prepared, so you do not need to boil it for a long time. Stir it well.
Is chaga the same as a magic mushroom?
No. Chaga contains no psilocybin and is not a substance for tripping. This product is a mushroom supplement.
Is this a tincture?
No, it is a dry powder. Ethanol is used during extraction; you measure the final product with a spoon, not a dropper.
Can I weigh the amount precisely?
Yes, with scales that measure small amounts accurately. For daily use, follow the recommended amount and do not use a full tablespoon.
